National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP):

Sport and Recreation branch coordinates the delivery of a national certification program in Yukon. This program incorporates a competency-based approach to coach training.

Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) / Canadian Sport for Life (CS4L):

Yukon, along with the federal government and all the provinces and territories, has endorsed the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model for athlete development and participation.

The LTAD model is being incorporated into the athlete development programs for all nationally funded sport organizations and provides a structure for participation in sport for Canadians of all ages and abilities. It is hoped that this initiative will improve the quality of the experience for participants in sport and recreation.

Respect in Sport:

Respect in Sport Coach/Activity Leader Program:

The Respect in Sport Program Coach/Activity Leader Program provides sport leaders of all levels with essential abuse prevention education. To get started please visit the Yukon’s Respect in Sport website for coaches and activity leaders.

Respect in Sport Parent Program:
