Request for comments on Pharmacist and Rural Permit Holder Legislation

The Government of Yukon seeks public feedback as it modernizes Yukon’s legislation for the pharmacy and pharmacist professions in Yukon. When complete, the new legislation will ensure a level of pharmacy services and standards in Yukon that are more consistent with those in other jurisdictions in Canada.

From April 21 to July 21, 2017, the public can provide feedback on:

  • the proposed regulation;
  • draft standards of practice for pharmacists and rural permit holders; and
  • a draft common code of ethics.

Please provide your comments to the attention of the Director of Professional Licensing & Regulatory Affairs, by email at plra@gov.yk.ca.

In April 2015, following public review of draft legislation, the Pharmacy and Drug Act was passed to regulate the operations and licensing of community pharmacies and rural dispensaries.

To obtain a paper copy of these documents, please contact the Office of the Registrar, by email at plra@gov.yk.ca or by telephone at 667-5111 or toll-free in Yukon at 1-800-661-0408, ext. 5111.
