Yukon participates in the Canadian Armed Forces Operation NANOOK every three years.
The operation uses scenarios to showcase the Canadian Armed Forces' support to civil emergency management agencies, threats to public safety, and assistance to law enforcement agencies.

Operation NANOOK 2016
The 2016 scenario centers on an earthquake in the Haines Junction area. It is scheduled for the end of August.
Operation NANOOK 2013
In August 2013, the Government of Yukon lead the Yukon portion of the Canadian Armed Forces exercise along with the City of Whitehorse, the RCMP and the Whitehorse General Hospital.
This major emergency preparedness exercise in Yukon used the scenario of a wildfire approaching Whitehorse. Exercises tested joint emergency management and coordination of federal, territorial and municipal agencies.
