Reference Desk: The Reference Desk is located near the Reference Collection. A reference staff person is there Monday to Friday from 1:00 p.m.to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and Sunday between 1:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The contact number is 667-3668 or email at reference.pls@gov.yk.ca
Requests, Interlibrary Loans and Reserves: You may place a hold on any item that is currently not on the shelf. If we do not have the material you are looking for, we will try to obtain it through Interlibrary Loan.
Internet access: Free access to the Internet is available. An Internet User Agreement must be signed by each user. 30 minute sessions are available. Please phone 667-5239 to make a booking or for more information.
Computer Room: Computers and printers are available for Internet and word processing. The computers are equipped with Microsoft Office 2000, Internet Explorer and a wide range of CD-ROM's with educational software for all ages. Separate children's workstations are available.
Public Programs: The library regularly offers programs for children and adults. To find out what's scheduled, please contact the front desk at 667-5239.
Story Hour: Please contact the front desk at 667-5239 to find out about current and upcoming children's programs.
Photocopier: A self-serve photocopier is available. Each copy costs sixteen cents per page (includes GST).
Meeting Rooms: There are two meeting rooms available for public to use on a first come, first served basis. To book ahead, please contact the front desk at 667-5239.
Audio-Visual equipment: A selection of equipment is available for rent with a valid Yukon Libraries card.
Tours: Our staff would be happy to take your class or organized group on a guided tour of the library. Please call 667-5239 for more information.
Collections
The Public Access Catalogue located in Whitehorse Public Library includes the holdings of Whitehorse Public Library and fourteen Yukon community libraries. The Yukon Archives Library contains unique Yukon and northern related publications in the general Archives collection and special Coutts collections.
