Vehicle Registration

To register a vehicle, or if you have any questions regarding your registration, you can contact any of our offices at these locations.


What do I need to bring in to Motor Vehicles?

  • Proof of Insurance
All registration renewals, transfers and new transactions require proof of insurance. Proof of Valid Insurance is required at the time of application. Insurance can be purchased through an agent or insurance company.
Please check your local "Yellow Pages" under Insurance for available companies.


As a new resident when must I register my vehicle?

  • Within seven days once you take up residency or begin employment in the Territory.


What paperwork does Motor Vehicles require to register a factory new vehicle?

  • Proof of Valid insurance
  • N.V.I.S. Form (New Vehicle Information Statement)
  • The original factory invoice - (if NVIS not available)
  • Bill of sale (signed by seller)


What do I need to register a used vehicle?

  • Proof of Valid insurance
  • Bill of sale signed by the seller
  • Proof of previous owner's registration


What do I need to renew my registration?

  • Proof of Valid insurance
  • Renewal notice, plate number or registration.


Can I renew my registration through the mail?

Yes, you must send:
  • proof of valid insurance (may be a photocopy), and
  • the Plate Number or renewal notice
Payment can be made by cheque, money order, Visa or MasterCard.
